I'm an artist and filmmaker from Toronto, Canada. I've directed on a on a bunch of animated shows like Bojack Horseman, Tuca and Bertie and many more. I've directed opening titles and animated special sequences. I also make my own original cartoons like Sublo and Tangy Mustard (a slice-of-life comedy about two fast food mascots and their friends) and Fester Fish, a throwback to the surreal slapstick shorts of the 1930s-40s. My work has been featured in festivals around the world.
Growing up, I was captivated by Looney Tunes and Tex Avery cartoons. Their energetic, rubbery style was a big early influence on me. Later on I also became interested in Japanese animation's sophisticated storytelling and the varied techniques of European animators. Once I learned how to use Flash, I started making cartoons on my own in high school. I did some independent shorts and a few commercial jobs before completing a 4-year Classical & Computer Animation Production diploma at Max the Mutt Animation School. After that, I moved to Los Angeles for a decade before returning home to Toronto. My career is sort of a balancing act between the industry jobs and my independent work. The two streams inform and feed off each other in ways that often surprise me. My indie animation is crowd-funded through my Patreon, so if you like what you see please consider becoming a patron! |
