I've been a freelance animator and designer for several years, and in 2013 I graduated from Max the Mutt Animation School.
I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. Animation has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I grew up on a steady stream of classic theatrical shorts. The style of these 1930s and 40s cartoons had a profound influence on me as an artist. Later on I also became interested in Japanese animation's sophisticated storytelling and amazing draftsmanship. I was fascinated by the effect that moving drawings could have on an audience, and the way that cartoons could caricature the world to create a heightened reality and tell stories in a more direct, humorous and engaging way.
I began attempting to make cartoons on my own, primarily using Flash. I created a few independent shorts and worked on some commercial jobs before enrolling at Max the Mutt Animation School, where I completed a 4-year Classical & Computer Animation Production Diploma.
